      Velikoi-Ustyug

Velikoi-Ustyug is the unofficial name for a possible meteorite fall thought to have occurred in the year 1250 in Russia’s Vologodskaya Oblast. The meteorite fall was described in medieval chronicles, but no extraterrestrial material has yet been recovered in the area. See E.L. Krinov, Osnovy meteoritiki (Principles of Meteoritics). State Technical Literature Publishing House, pp.7-11, 1955.

In the XVII century an icon was painted showing the Velikoi-Ustyug event. The original icon is now in a monastery near Vologda. Our team recently had a wooden copy of the original icon made, and keep this in our team museum.

We offer high-quality reproductions of this fascinating historical icon. Copies are on A4-size paper (90% of the original size of the icon).
